Milan Acquaah transferring, becomes 4th guard to leave Washington State

The exodus from the Washington State basketball program has continued, with guard Milan Acquaah announcing he will transfer.

Acquaah, a freshman guard, started nine times for Washington State and appeared in 30 of 31 games, averaging 4.9 points.

With Curry in the lineup this season, the Warriors went 41-10 while averaging 120.4 points per 100 possessions, which would be the best offensive rating over the past 20 seasons. With him off the floor, however, the Warriors were only 17-14 in the regular season and had an offensive efficiency that was right around the league average.

Although he is eager to rejoin his teammates in action after missing the past 15 games, Curry said he has to be wise about attempting to rush back. He said it’s imperative that he doesn’t come back prematurely.

“I’m trying to be smart about it,” he said. “That’s the biggest thing we’re learning. My knee two years ago, and this year, and ankle stuff and all that. I want to be out there. Obviously, I’m competitive. I want to be out there for my teammates. When we’re a full squad, we’re tough to beat, and I want to be out there in the fray with my guys. That’s what it’s about.”

Rhame was available for Friday night’s series opener against the Padres. He began the year with the Mets, recording one save and a 7.36 ERA in four appearances, before being optioned to the 51s on April 13.

Baumann appeared in one game for the Padres, allowing five runs, two earned, in one-third inning.

Oswalt made his major league debut on April 25 at St. Louis with 4 2/3 innings of relief.

Wall and Beal were held to a total of 3-for-12 shooting and a combined seven points in the fourth quarter on Wednesday. Their only points in the last nine minutes came when Beal made a 3-pointer with 16.2 seconds left after the game was out of reach.

The Wizards have won eight straight playoff games at home and Wall said they love their chances of forcing a Game 7. He just has to save his energy for the fourth quarter and get his teammates involved.

Wall said he may be able to stay fresh by letting other teammates run pick-and-rolls. The Wizards, though, will be without Otto Porter Jr., who is out indefinitely after undergoing a procedure on his leg Friday.
