The Panthers joined the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2013. Their only other bowl berth came in 2015, also at the Cure Bowl. They lost 27-16 to San Jose State that year. They’re looking to make amends this year.
Coleman has bounced around the league since going undrafted out of Cal in 2014 but has been around the Bills organization since last September. He was on the team’s practice squad most of last season before being active for five games. He was around all summer before being cut by the Bills prior to the 2017 season, re-signed for the one game when Marcell Dareus was injured, and then cut again.
Following a hot start, the Pistons have lost six straight — but all but two of those defeats were by five points or fewer. The margin of their latest loss was a little deceptive. They were within four points of Eastern Conference leader Boston with less than three minutes remaining before falling 91-81 at home on Sunday.
The skid has put the Pistons (14-12) in a mental funk. They’ll try to end the streak against the Nuggets on Tuesday at Little Caesars Arena. Detroit swept last season’s two-game series.
